November 2011

Debbie and I are just back from a short "cruise and stay" holiday in Spain. We flew from Gatwick to Malaga where we transfered to the ship "Adventure of the Sea". It was a short 4 day cruise stopping for two days in Lisbon (Portugal) and then moving on for a half day in Gibraltar and then back to Malaga. After the cruise we stopped for three nights in the old town at Torremolinos. We had quite reasonable weather and lovely food.

Unfortunately Debbie's Dad (Frank - 88) is not well at the moment. He was taken into hospital on the day we returned from holiday with kidney failure. He is looking better this weekend although they have now moved him to a urology ward at Farnborough Hospital in  Kent. We all wish him a speedy recovery.

Chloe is growing fast and has just started smiling. Jan and Kevin are coping really well and they have managed to get Chloe into a routine, which is good as they are able to get a bit more sleep.

Gill and Migs are fine as well. Miguel has managed to change his shifts at work and now has his weekends at home. Gill has been going to Zumba classes which has improved her fitness. They both went out to Portugal for a wedding and then went on holiday to Turin, which they thoroughly enjoyed.

Yes - it's finally happened - I am pleased to announce that Janette and Kevin are now proud parents, and Debbie and I are now proud grandparents.

Chloe Niamh Lily was born on Wednesday 14th September at 00.40 am (ish) at Darent Valley Hospital, Dartford. Chloe weighed in at 7lb 14oz and she is adorable - but then again I am biased!
 

2 days prior to the birth Janette and Kevin celebrated their 2nd wedding anniversary and shared a take away with Debbie and I.

Gill and Miguel have been over to Portugal to see Miguel's family and they are going out again shortly for a wedding in Miguel's home town. I don't know - always on holiday!

August 2011

August 14 saw Debbie and I travel down to Crawley to Brian and Diana's 25th Wedding Aniversary. We had a great day and met up with Michael and Hilary, John and Sue, and Joyce at the party.

We had another great day when we went over to see John and Sue. In the evening we went out for a meal with John & Sue and Peter & Rachel - calzone mmm.

June 2011

Another busy month! Debbie's neice Jess married Andy in Suffolk and we took Mum and Dad up to the wedding. We stayed at The Swan Hotel in Harleston (just across the border into Norfolk). We had a great time and everything went very well. Jess and Andy make a lovely couple and it was great to see Tina and all her family together.

Gill & Miguel and Jan & Kevin took Debbie and I out for a meal to celebrate Fathers Day. We went to the Cricketers Inn at Meopham and had a smashing meal. I think I ate a little too much! No change there I hear you say!

Gill has been in Madrid with work this week leaving Miguel to fend for himself - party, party, party!

Jan is doing well and is blooming! She is 2/3 the way through her pregnancy and is looking forward to being a Mum in September.

A busy month in the Moloney household!

We had a really great cruise with our friends to the Canaries. We were a bit apprehensive before we went as it was a much bigger ship than we have been on before - 4000 people! But out fears were unfounded and it turned out to be one of the best ever.

While we were away we had some decorating work done on the house. When we returned we were really pleased with the result. It was a bit like a DIY SOS moment when we walked in the front door!

Since then I have out to Spain for a golf weekend with my friends Nick, Dave and Brian. We stayed at Brian's new place on the La Cala golf resort. I want one! It was great, but a shame my golf wasn't as good as it could have been.

April 2011

Gill and Miguel have now moved into their new maisonette in Gravesend. It is not far from where they were living before. It is really good and reminds me of where Debbie and I started out with our maisonette in Erith.

Jan and Kev are busy decorating their bathroom. It's a big job but it's beginning to look good.

Debbie and I are off on our holidays soon. We are going on a cruise to the Canaries with our friends Rich and Angela. I can't wait!

Good News, Good News!

Janette and Kevin are expecting the patter of tiny feet!  Janette is pregnant and the baby is due mid September. Congratulations Jan and Kev!

Yes, Debbie and I are soon to be grandparents! And, as my brother John was quick to point out, come September I'll be sleeping with a Granny every night!

February 2011

We have seen the first glimpse of spring this week in Darenth, which is good because I want it to warm up enough to get going in the garden! I tried to do a few bits this weekend but every time I went out and started pruning it poured with rain!

It was Debbie's Mum's 85th birthday last week. We popped in to see her, at their flat in Eltham, on her birthday and then we had both Mum and Dad round to lunch on Sunday. Gill and Miguel came to lunch as well, and Jan popped in during the afternoon to see everyone.

January 2011

Debbie and I have just returned from a short break in Portugal. We stayed in Aveiro, just south of Oporto. Gill and Miguel were out there at the same time as they were staying with Miguels's parents for the New Year. We had a great time and met many of Miguel's family, who all made us very welcome.
